Be the dancer you dream of being...Would you like
to be the dancer you dream of being, or wait for the next life? I encourage you to dance now, even if it is a faint
calling within and you have never set foot publicly on the stage or dance floor. People of different ages and various
backgrounds in dance from zero experience to having studied it extensively take classes and workshops with me.
Use me as your dance guide if you would like inspiration, motivation, and support exploring your own dance.
Unlock energy pathways... Dance is a healing art form for a
multitude of reasons. Through dance you develop the ability to unlock energy pathways and direct vitality to where
your body needs attention. I guide the dancer into those stuck places by consciously coaxing movement there. This
is a safe and self-affirming way to move into the uninhabited, inhibited, shamed, or pained areas of our bodies.
Enliven the body... My work focuses on
enlivening the body from the ground up. I use many exercises to free the feet from their prison of limited movement.
By awakening the pelvis through dance, men and women can direct their sexual and fertile energy, giving birth to
new forms of creativity. I work with integrating the left and right sides of the body (and brain) in movement which
increases balance and acceptance of who we are.
Wake up to dance... I celebrate you waking up to dance, not
only for exercise and social interaction, but as a way to delve into the unspoken creative caves of yourself where
dwells a richly expressive soul housed in a beautiful body. Add dance to your repertoire and give form to the mystery
of life that dances within you. For my private classes I provide a safe, aesthetic studio space in Marin County, California with a large
wood floor and fine sound system. Music ranges from techno to trance, blues to Celtic, Reggae to African, to the
fullness of our own silence.
Join the dance tribe... On-going group dance classes will be held at the Tam Valley Community Center in Mill Valley starting this June. For more details, go to Dance In Marin. Keep in touch with current dance tips, student poetry & class music playlists at Lisa's BLOG
